Achievements

In August we sold 11 month old Poll Merino wethers for $128 after cutting $44 of wool (7 mths growth).

We achieved a 103% Lamb marking percentage this year including maidens.

We will be offering 60 highly productive Poll Merino rams and 300 Poll Merino Ewes at our on property sale on 19th January 2012. (Details below)

Features

The aim of Blaxland Poll is to breed very large framed, superfine, Poll sheep. Emphasis is placed on correct conformation, quick maturity, heavy fleece weights, and high lambing percentage. We want to produce an animal that is easy-care and highly profitable for commercial breeders in all areas of Australia. Therefore they must be robust but also waterproof and fly-resistant.

We believe the way forward is to have a genetically superfine, genuine Poll Merino sheep that can be used as a dual purpose breed.
